Building Information Modeling, or BIM for short, is a process that involves the creation of a digital model of a building or structure. BIM models contain a wealth of information, including details on building materials, mechanical systems, and electrical systems, just to name a few.
Our non-invasive method relies on 3D Laser scanning, a method of choice by many in the industry because of its speed, effectiveness, and level of detail. The laser will collect an immense amount of data, which will then be converted into a 3D digital space showcasing an accurate representation of the object or space that was scanned.
This 3D space will then be imported into our building information modeling software and our engineers will use it to create a highly detailed and interactive 3D model of the scanned site for you.
It will contain information such as the size and shape of each room, walls, floors, and any other structural elements. What materials were used and the quantity of each material. Any mechanical and electrical systems in the building, as well as HVAC and plumbing systems. It also includes any and all information about lighting, safety systems (fire, emergency exits, security systems), and lastly any details about the maintenance / operation of the building.
